Some more mapping guidance needed

Feb 8, 2012 at 5:17 PM

Hi,

First of all, thank you for providing this great little tool!

We are interested to use the utility to time track (and report) the work on work items in TFS (2010).

What process template should we use? Currently we use MSF Agile. (default).

How do we map the Duration, etc. fields and what do we need to do for that? (Extend the items with the vsts.scheduling fields?)

Bit lost there, so thanks in advance for some more explanation.

Hi Siko

You can use any template you like, it just may not have the all the fields you need to make each item in TFS Working On. You don't need to fill out all mappings either. If you just want to record completed time on Bugs you can do that. The documentation tab in codeplex has the details for mappings configuration. The screen shot showing the fields comes from the default CMMI template. That is a heavy template though. If you want stick to the agile template but add a few more fields, use the TFS Power Tools.

Let me know if you need more help.

Matthew Rowan
