TFS Working On needs a flat list

I was playing with TFS Working On and managed to generate exceptions of the form:

TF248021: You have specified a query string that is not valid when you use the query method for a flat list of work items. You cannot specify a parameterized query or a query string for linked work items with the query method you specified.

The reason turns out I had been playing with the "Type of Query" field on the query I was using in TFS Working On to choose my tasks, and had left it selected to "Tree of Work Items".

Flat List of Work Items

Work Items and Direct Links

Tree of Work Items

Several of the queries in the process template I am using have this as the selected type of query, so TFSWO was failing on all of them with the exception noted above.

Changing the query back to a "Flat List of Work Items" fixed the issue.

Just thought I'd mention it!

Thanks for the feedback. When we fully support TFS 2010 we should have this resolved. It's captured in work item 11630 (which I do see you voted on).

You're welcome!  Yes, I figured the issue that I was seeing was related, but I thought I'd post here in case I was misguided.  Thanks for the feedback.
